About Fiona
It started when I was a child. As a toddler I was already deciding which clothes went together in style and color, sometimes to the slight annoyance of my mother. Not much later I started helping in my parents’ garden and as a teenager I started working in a plant shop and “collecting” countless plants in my teenager room. Not to mention the binders full of magazine clippings: I collected everything related to home and garden design.
And then, many years later, …. finally had my own house, my own garden. Friends were thrilled and asked me to design their gardens, too. But even then I stuck to my other passion, my profession as a teacher.
Until my parents moved. While helping them pack, I came across my childhood drawings. I realized that there wasn’t a single drawing that didn’t include a house or plants, or both. Much to my delight, they moved into a house with a beautiful wild garden: I wanted and was allowed to unleash my creativity there! With what a result… What I never expected happened: people from the neighborhood talked to me about it, hikers stopped to take pictures, and the landscaper asked me to design for his clients. Now it was clear that I had to give in.
At the same time, my daughter moved into an attic. Believe me, there is no greater honor than being asked by your adolescent daughter to design and decorate her attic!
Now, I combine my work as a part-time teacher with designing gardens large and small and furnishing rooms of all sizes.
